Doc Martens took on a lease for a new experience store in Stables Market in Camden, London. More than just a shop, the building shows a history of Doc Martens through the decades using memorabilia gathered from famous DM wearers such as Pete Townshend, Beyoncé and Joe Strummer.

Given the musical heritage and the ultra-hip location, the team behind the new Camden store wanted to incorporate a fully-fledged gig venue into the shop for after-hours DJ and band sets, called The Boot Room.

NoiseBoys were approached by leading retail design house Closed Sundays to turn the Grade I listed former stable building into The Boot Room, designing and installing everything from the staging to the sound desk to the lighting to the mic stands.

We provided installation of a full sound system that is capable of handling anything from background music to rock bands, grime artists, and everything in between. Lighting is all LED so draws very little power and is extremely efficient, yet provides the full gig experience for visiting bands and audiences, controlled via a touch screen at the custom-built control position at the back of the room.

The sound system has met and exceeded our expectations and delivers exceptional quality across all our activities.
NoiseBoys were immense partners throughout the speccing out of the DM’s Boot Room
and we now very much see this exciting new store and cultural space becoming a hub for the brand, its fans and Camden. We’ve already welcomed the likes of Mykki Blanco, Warpaint plus a host of other live acts and DJs.
