Audio, Video & Lighting Installer

About the Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced AV installer who will be responsible for:

• Installing professional audio, stage and architectural lighting, video systems (e.g., cameras, projectors, LED walls), and control equipment.

• Running and terminating various types of cabling and installing containment systems.

• Maintaining tools, equipment, and stock levels of consumables and materials.

• Coordinating with the operations team and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.

• Engaging in CPD and assisting with training junior installers.

£29k-34k basic (excluding overtime pay)

About You

You are practical, enthusiastic, and dedicated to delivering work to the highest standard. You enjoy working in a variety of environments, from historic institutions to new builds and renovations, and are passionate about how technology enhances spaces.


Specific qualities we are looking for:


• Experience in medium to large-scale AVL installations, or good experience of a similar installation discipline (e.g. electrics) at high quality, with a keen interest in AVL technology.

• A professional and positive approach to communicating with colleagues and customers.

• Willingness to work away during the week when needed, recognising that TOIL and overtime pay are compensation for this necessary aspect of the work.

• An appreciation for architecture and how technology can seamlessly integrate into spaces would be advantageous in this role.

Previous experience (at least 1 out of 3 is an essential requirement):

Listed in order of preference, however all applications will be equally considered


1. Experience in medium to large scale audio, video or lighting installation work (e.g. churches, cathedrals, theatres, auditoriums, event spaces).


2. Experience in medium to large scale (as above) installation work in a similar field (electrical networks, etc.), with an interest in audio, visuals and/or lighting.


3. Experience in small space AV installation work (e.g. meeting/Teams rooms, corporate AV, educational AV).

Excellent time management, with the ability to meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Confidence in the use of power and hand tools.

Good communication skills.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude.

Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Full UK driving licence.


Desirable skills and abilities:

Experience in building equipment racks to a high standard.

Ability to interpret plans and project documentation.

Terms of Employment

This is a full time, permanent position subject to satisfactory completion of probationary period. Due to the nature of the work, there will be times where you will be required to work away from home.

Salary range: £29k - £34k basic (plus overtime pay) depending on experience.
